  • Welcome to 6th Grade Social Studies. First semester, we will scale the majestic peaks of the Andes, float down the mighty Amazon and relax on the sunny beaches of the Caribbean while exploring the geography, history and culture of the diverse countries that make up Latin America. We will then end the semester with our own version of Latin America's "Carnival." Second semester we will grab our hats and head to Africa, Indiana Jones style, where we will jump on our camels to explore the great Sahara, follow the ancient trade routes, and journey into the dark, unknown center of this great continent. We will then end the year by looking at a few of the numerous hardships Africans are faced with and what can be done to help. It is sure to be a fun and exciting year so, come on in and lets get started!
